Case Provided Dr Sofia Aroca, Paris, France
Diagnosis
Multiple recession defects of recession type 1 (RT1) on teeth 14, 13 and 12.
Gingival recession defect extending beyond the mucogingival junction (MGJ) on tooth 13 with a thin gingival profile.
Expected challenge
Complete root coverage
Surgery
Full-split flap design following the technique established by Zucchelli & De Sanctis (2000). The roots were thoroughly cleaned.
Challenge & Tip
To preserve the connective tissue thickness in the papillae as much as possible, carefully remove the epithelium at the tip of the papillae without shortening it.
Surgery
After thorough root planning cross-linked hyaluronic acid (Hyadent BG) was applied onto the root surface and incision areas of the soft tissue, to support periodontal regeneration and fast wound healing.
Did you know…
Hyadent BG can be applied onto a blood-covered site.
Surgery
Application of cross-linked hyaluronic acid (Hyadent BG) on to the connective tissue graft (CTG).
Outcome
Before, 1 year and 3 years after the operation: The recession remains well covered with healthy soft tissue and a good aesthetic result.
Did you know…
For some patients Hyadent BG contributes to the relief of postoperative discomfort by accelerating the healing process of the graft.
